Leavenworth High School

Leavenworth High School students face an unusual challenge. Currently, we have no collaborative space to work on homework, group projects, and other classroom assignments. We have no choice but to sit in the hallway to work on them. With a $15,000 facilities enrichment grant, we would direct the money towards the continuational development of greatly needed Collaboration Centers. Innovative, wide open spaces equipped with technology will allow activity to run smoothly. They would also foster an optimal environment for group work, individual study, and teacher-student collaboration. Our current situation instills an inability among students to experience real world collaboration and to generate authentic ideas. Not only would Collaboration Centers eliminate this obstacle, they would facilitate individual ownership of our education and promote engagement. Leavenworth High School is in dire need of a quality facility and this is the remedy.
