Northland Christian Schools

Christian education has a unique opportunity right now to capture hearts and minds of youth for Christ. Below is a brief description of how the staff and faculty at Northland Christian Education System are working to weave God’s story through every aspect of a child’s development from Preschool thru 12th grade. We invite you into the work to bring Christ-centered education to families across the Northland.

the challenge

Today’s world is one of increasing division, decreasing religion, and in a culture that is challenging the most fundamental principles of biblical morality. While these societal themes are witnessed throughout the Hebrew Scriptures and history, today’s challenges are unique to new generations and with these challenges, come new opportunities to engage culture for Christ. At NCES, we are teaching, discipling, and equipping the next generation of Christian leaders with the relevant education, leadership skills, and character to lead others to Christ. There’s no greater time than now to invest in tomorrow’s Christian leaders.

the call

A 2015 Desiring God article recently stated that “Christian education is as big as God and his revelation. It goes beyond parenting and teachers and classroom instruction to infuse every aspect of the Christian life. It involves not merely donning gospel-centered glasses when we study “spiritual” subjects, but being filled by the very presence of almighty God as we seek by his Spirit to interpret all of reality in light of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

At Northland Christian Education System (NCES), our call is to partner with families and churches to provide a Christ- centered, discipleship-based school with academic excellence and a Biblical worldview, equipping students to serve and influence our world for Christ. NCES is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and AdvancED. Our students graduate as determined, respectful adults with the necessary skills to thrive in college, vocational school, and work, but most importantly, our students graduate knowing that God’s story of reconciliation is woven within the fabric of every subject matter: from science and technology to art and history.

We seek to instill a holistic education partnering with parents and churches to integrate Kingdom education in all aspects of a child’s development, and we desire to serve more families across

the Northland and Kansas City. NCES is growing. Each year, new numbers of families are choosing Christian education. They are choosing to set Scripture as their child’s sole source of truth, and we expect to serve 450 students in the 2019-2020 school year, growing year over year. Currently, the administration and board of directors are working to expand our satellite campus structure, accommodating increased number of elementary students at various locations feeding into one, central secondary school.

As our student body grows, so also do their needs. We are expanding our academic and extracurricular opportunities for the diverse interests of our students, our early childhood education center for children ages three to five, and our technological integration at each stage of childhood development. Our teachers and staff are invested deeply in students’ success both inside and outside of the classroom. As a teacher recently said, “there’s nothing better to see than when the Holy Spirit enters a student and their faith becomes their own.” We see students making new connections with the Lord everyday while learning new material in the classroom, learning to serve the community in Kansas City, and learning to be competitors for Christ.

the charge

How can we serve more families and more students by providing high quality, Christ-centered education over the next 3-5 years? By partnering with donors willing to catalyze a community of Christian education. At NCES, we work to keep tuition and fees as low as possible to allow a variety of families to access private education. As such, the operations of the school rely upon strategic partners will to invest in the foundation of this institution. In order to expand well and quickly, we need donors, foundations, businesses, and churches to invest in the vision of Kingdom education.

Would you consider investing in this Kingdom vision of building up learners and leaders through Christian education?

the commitment

We are grateful for your consideration of giving to NCES. Your investment would build a foundation on which to soar to new heights. Any gift from $5,000 to $500,000 make a world of difference for the staff and faculty working everyday to provide the highest quality of education to our students. If you are interested in discussing an investment into Northland Christian Education System, please contact Kris Wheeler at kwheeler@ncblazers.org or at (816) 548-2222. We look forward to discussing how we can partner together to build the next generation of Christian leaders.
